Organisation Evaluation, User Persona Interviews & Workshop

We’ll begin by understanding your members, your organisation and what brings your members together. We’ll conduct some user interviews for people that represent the cross section of your community, establishing an understanding of what they want to see on the platform and what’s important to them. Gathering this information, reviewing competitors and planning a workshop, we’ll discuss all aspects of the website over a few hours at one of our offices. We’re now ready to start the design phase.

Wireframing & User Interface / User Experience Design

The team at Designpluz will begin the detailed process of designing the website frontend from the ground up (from black and white wireframes) until email templates have been designed. We include navigation mockups for all devices, desktop and mobile mockups (even tablet mockups if required), announcement EDM design and anything else required for a successful project and launch. We sit down with you to discuss your feedback at all critical design milestones so that your valued feedback is integrated with our expertise to ensure an outcome which you are deeply proud of.

Development

With a clear vision of the website design established over many weeks, we’re now ready to start developing in our development server for the second part of the project. We’ll start with desktop development first, sharing the staging site URL with you to be reviewed prior to any optimisation – this is to avoid duplicate work when updating all screen sizes. Feedback at this stage is minimal considering the design process, but involves things such as changing images, text, navigation structure and more.

Optimisation & Member Migration

Now that the desktop version of the portal is approved, updated and ready to be adapted for large screens, 4K resolutions, tablet, mobile and popular web browsers, we upload your members into the new system ready for launch. We implement functionality to send bulk emails to members to notify them of the new portal launch, including instructions and default passwords to give them a seamless experience and hit the ground running on launch date. The website is now optimised, loaded with important data and ready for launch.

Website Launch

The website will be reviewed a final time before being approved to launch, where we can go live at a time that suits you (even after hours) before notifying members. We launch and then commence our post-live quality assurance processes to guarantee a good experience for users.
